Despite its long and plentiful coat, Siberian cats actually shed less hair than many other breeds and are known to be hypoallergenic. They can grow to be quite large, thanks in no small part to their outsized fur, and can be very agile in spite of their size.

Ragdoll cats carry a regular amount of Fel d 1 in their bodies, so people with allergies should avoid them. Mixed breeds like the Siberian-Bengal or the Munchkin-Ragdoll are also not hypoallergenic.

There are many benefits to adopting a Siberian cat—so many benefits, in fact, that these cats are in high demand and can be hard to come by outside of breeding networks. They cost, on average, $1,200 to $2,500 but can be as much as $4,000 depending on the pedigree.

Grooming & Care Not so! Although they have a three-layered coat, Siberians have glossy fur that you only need to brush once or twice a week to avoid tangles and matting. They molt heavily at the end of winter and then have a lighter molting in the summer, so it's a good idea to brush your pal daily during these times.
